In 2019 Lansweeper was discovered to be vulnerable to an SQL injection vulnerability. The Lansweeper central inventory database must be located on either an SQL Compact or SQL Server database on a Microsoft Windows machine. There is also a software module that allows Lansweeper to orchestrate software updates on Windows computers. The software incorporates an integrated ticket-based Help Desk module that can be used to assist issues to be captured and tracked through to completion. Lansweeper can collect information on all Windows, Linux and Mac devices and can also IP-addressable network appliances. Reports from the inventory enable complete hardware and software reports on the devices and can be used to identify problems. The main purpose of Lansweeper derives from a discovery phase of sweeping round a local area network (LAN) and maintaining an inventory of the hardware assets and software deployed on those assets. In June 2021, Lansweeper received a €130m investment from Insight Partners to accelerate further growth. In October 2020, Lansweeper announced the acquisition of Fing. If this is not correct, please check for DNS problems.Īccess is denied, please check your credentials.Lansweeper was founded in Belgium in 2004. Scanning Lansweeper Service (on this machine). Has anyone else had a similar issue? For reference, here is the log from a connection test from the LanSweeper server. Not the information that needs WMI access. However, most of its information does not come through. After removing a couple of Windows updates, the machine does scan into the system. This is occurring on both Windows 10 and 11 machines. Additionally, I removed the most recent Windows update(s), also with the same results. I have double checked the Global id we use and its credentials are correct.Īs a test, I have tried scanning a machine prior to installing our AV with the same result of not being scanned. I then started checking other machines and found that I have 225 Access Denied errors when scanning. I noticed the issue when scanning in a newly built machine, as it was not scanning in. We use a hybrid of LS Agent, for remote users, and automated scanning from the server for machines attached to the domain. I am having an issue with machines not scanning and receiving an Access Denied error upon failure. But, thought I would reach out to see if anyone else is seeing the same behavior. I have sent this issue into Support as well.
